It comes on behalf of the Fair Competition Commission (FCC) and the National College of Tourism (NCT). Together, these two institutions have opened 22 posts. Vacancies at the Fair Competition Commission (FCC)
The FCC wants to strengthen its enforcement and technology divisions. As a result, it has opened two key positions.
1. Counterfeit Surveillance Officer II (Law Enforcement) — 2 Posts
This role sits at the frontline of Tanzania’s fight against fake and substandard goods. The officer monitors entry points and container depots. They also carry out inspections and raids on suspicious premises. In addition, they gather market intelligence on counterfeit products and prepare regular field reports.
Requirement: A Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement from a recognized institution.
Salary Scale: FCC SS 4
2. Information Communication Technology Officer II (Computer System Security) — 2 Posts
This position supports the Commission’s digital infrastructure. Duties include systems security, disaster recovery planning, and IT policy implementation. The officer also maintains the Commission’s electronic registers.
Requirement: A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Network Engineering, Software Engineering, Database Administration, Computer Systems Security, Network Administration, or a related computer field.

Vacancies at the National College of Tourism (NCT)
NCT, meanwhile, has opened a much wider range of teaching and support-staff posts. This reflects its growth as one of Tanzania’s leading hospitality and tourism training institutions.
Administrative and Support Roles
- Office Management Secretary Grade II — 2 Posts: You need an Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Secretarial Studies. You must also type shorthand at 100 words per minute in English and Swahili. Computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and email are required too. (Salary: NCTSS 3.1)
- Accounts Assistant Grade II — 2 Posts: A Certificate in Accountancy, Finance, or Business Administration/Commerce (majoring in Accountancy or Finance) qualifies you. ATEC I from NBAA also counts. (Salary: NCTSS 2.1)
- Receptionist Grade II — 1 Post: You need a Form IV or Form VI certificate. On top of that, a Certificate in Telephone Operations, Front Office, or Customer Care is required. (Salary: NCTSS 2.1)
Teaching Positions (Tutor & Assistant Tutor Cadres)
- Tutor Grade II – English Language (1 Post): A Bachelor of Education in English & Literature qualifies you. Alternatively, a Language Studies degree majoring in English works too, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Tutor Grade II – French (1 Post): A Bachelor of Education or Language Studies degree majoring in French, with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Assistant Tutor – Hospitality Operations (1 Post): A Diploma in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management, minimum GPA 3.0.
- Assistant Tutor II – Travel and Tourism Management (1 Post): An Ordinary Diploma in Travel and Tourism or Tourism Management, minimum GPA 3.0.
- Assistant Tutor – Housekeeping and Laundry (1 Post): A Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Hotel Management/Rooms Division specializing in Housekeeping and Laundry, or Hospitality Management, minimum GPA 3.0.
- Assistant Tutor – Food Production (2 Posts): An Ordinary Diploma (NTA Level 6) in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management, majoring in Culinary Arts, Pastry and Bakery, or Food Production, minimum GPA 3.0.
- Tutor Grade II – Food Production/Culinary Arts (2 Posts): A Bachelor’s Degree in the same specializations above, minimum GPA 3.0.
- Tutor Grade II – Wildlife Management (1 Post): A Bachelor’s Degree in Wildlife Management, Wildlife Tourism, or Wildlife Ecology, minimum GPA 3.0.
- Tutor Grade II – Housekeeping and Laundry (1 Post): A Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management, minimum GPA 3.0.
- Tutor Grade II – Tour Guiding Operations (1 Post): A Bachelor’s Degree in Wildlife Management, Wildlife Tourism, Tourism Management, Wildlife Ecology, or Wildlife Science and Conservation, minimum GPA 3.0.
- Tutor Grade II – Travel and Tourism Management (1 Post): A Bachelor’s Degree in Tourism Management or Tourism and Hospitality, minimum GPA 3.0.
Most teaching posts fall under PTSS 1.1 for Assistant Tutors and PTSS 3.1 for Tutors. Support staff, on the other hand, fall under the NCTSS scale depending on grade.
Who Can Apply — General Eligibility Rules
Before you rush to apply, check every box below. PSRS strictly disqualifies incomplete or non-compliant applications.
- You must hold Tanzanian citizenship. Also, you must not be older than 45 years. (Paramilitary posts follow different age limits — 25 years for non-degree posts and 30 years for degree posts — though these don’t apply here.)
- Apply strictly based on what this announcement states. Don’t assume extra flexibility on qualifications.
- Attach certified copies of your degree, diploma, or certificate. Include your transcripts, professional registration certificates where relevant, and your birth certificate.
- Do not attach Form IV or Form VI result slips, testimonials, or partial transcripts. PSRS will reject these.
- Upload a recent passport-size photo directly on the recruitment portal.
- Current public servants cannot apply. This follows Circular No. CAC.45/257/01/D/140 of 30th November 2010.
- Similarly, anyone retired from public service, for any reason, cannot apply.
- List three referees with reliable, working contact details.
- If you earned your certificate outside Tanzania, TCU, NECTA, or NACTVET must recognize it. Also, if your post requires a GPA, attach your TCU GPA calculation certificate.
