What You Must Bring on the Day

This is very important. If you arrive without the correct documents, you will not be allowed to sit the interview. There are no exceptions.

Required documents — every candidate must bring:

  • A valid identity document — any one of the following is acceptable: National ID (NIDA), Voter’s ID, Employee ID, Citizenship Certificate, Passport, Driving Licence, or an official letter of identification from your local government (Serikali ya Mtaa or Kijiji)
  • All original academic certificates — starting from your birth certificate, Form IV certificate, Form VI certificate, and all higher education certificates up to your highest qualification
  • Original professional registration certificates and valid practising licences (for positions that require registration with a professional board)

Documents that will NOT be accepted:

  • Testimonials
  • Provisional results
  • Statement of results
  • Form IV result slips
  • Form VI result slips

If you present any of the above instead of official certificates, you will be turned away and will not be allowed to continue with the interview.

Candidates Who Studied Abroad

If you obtained your qualifications outside Tanzania, you must ensure your certificates have been verified and accredited by the relevant authority before your interview date.

  • Degree-level qualifications must be verified by TCU (Tanzania Commission for Universities)
  • Vocational and technical qualifications must be verified by NACTVET
  • Secondary school certificates must be verified by NECTA
  • If your position requires a GPA and you studied abroad, bring a GPA conversion certificate from TCU

Do not wait until the week before your interview to do this. Verification can take time.

Online Screening — What You Need to Know

Several positions in this round have a three-stage interview process — an online screening first, followed by a practical assessment, and then a face-to-face interview. The online screening stage takes place through the Ajira Portal.

If your position has an online screening stage, you must:

  1. Log in to your Ajira Portal account at www.ajira.go.tz
  2. Find and note down your interview number
  3. Make sure you remember the email address and password you used when registering — you will need them to access the online screening

If you have forgotten your login details, reset them immediately through the portal. Do not wait until the day of the screening.

What to Do If Your Name Is Not on the List

If you applied for a government position and your name does not appear in this notice, do not panic. Log in to your Ajira Portal account and check the reason why you were not called. The system will show you the specific reason.

Understanding the reason is important — it means you can correct the issue and be better prepared for your next application so you do not miss out again.

General Rules for All Candidates

  • Arrive at the interview venue wearing a face mask (Barakoa)
  • Dress in clean, professional, and respectful clothing in line with the government dress code circular
  • You are personally responsible for your own food, transport, and accommodation — PSRS does not cover these costs
  • If your name appears differently across your documents, bring a registered Deed Poll (Hati ya Kiapo cha Kubadili Jina) from the Ministry of Lands
  • Bribery is strictly prohibited — any candidate found giving or receiving a bribe will be disqualified. All hiring follows principles of fairness, equality, and transparency

How to Check the Full List of Called Candidates
